Five Races in Seven Days

In the last seven days I have done five races. Two in Chamonix, and three back home in Norway. Here is a short report of two of the Norwegian races.

Heading for Hovedøya, by boat (src).

Fagervann opp 2014
Race #17 2014 - 2.6 km - 17:37 - Tuesday 3rd of June

I felt tired this day, without any extra energy, despite of having had two days off from running prior to this race. Normally I do not do too well when I relax much before a race. But in this case it was most likely due too having emptied my storages during the the 3+ hours 24 km race in the French Alps a few days earlier.

Hovedøya rundt 2014
Race #19 2014 - 3.2 km - 13:57 [PB] - Thursday 4th of July

In between Fagervann opp and Hovedøya rundt I did Sognsvann Rundt Medsols (SRM), one round in medium pace. Another heavy day. I did not feel too energetic before Hovedøya rundt either, but luckily the race went very well, and I managed to run faster than last year. These island races, organised by the SRM team, is my favourite set of races. A wonderful track, great people, cosy islands, good food, summer and just pure joy of life.

What Else

  • I am bored of writing race reports. Hence these posts are getting shorter and shorter.
  • I am working on a mini book project.
  • Chamonix has partly cured me of the fright of longer (2+ hours) distances.
  • I have not watched a single World Cup football match.
  • I have not given up the "Let Go Challenge", but it has been changed.
  • There are still spots left in Mærraølen 2014. If you want to join now is the time to sign up.
