|Staying in bed, so boring la (src: morphogenetically).|
I started getting sick yesterday, and had to skip Salomon Trail Tour. Today I have to cancel Rett Til Værs and tomorrow I doubt that I can join Sogsvann Rundt Medsols. There is never a good time for being sick, but losing three races in a row sux. Darn! Last time I was sick was back in December, in Singapore on my way to Japan.
What doesn't make sense this time around is getting sick despite of drinking fish oil every morning. I started doing that in February. My dad, aka. the famous (or infamous?) Gribben, promised me that I would never get sick as long as I drank "Tran". I called him today, majorly frustrated, complaining about his false advertisement of the so called "magical drink", made from fish. He had no good excuse at all. Double darn! Now, whom can I trust?
Not being able to run might be very good for my leg though, as it is bloody hard not running too much as I have no idea of what too much is. If I had not gotten sick it would have been five days in a row, which might very well have been to exagerate.
Restless as I am I haven't managed to keep the bed much today though. I really tried, but after half an hour or so I just gave up. I started working, with work stuff. But my head started aching and I switched over to a personal project instead; I've made available my old Posterous blogs.
|Posterous Spaces is no longer available.|
If you have read any of my older posts on this blog, you might have discovered links to a site called Posterous Spaces, or posterous.com (example: "http://klevstul.posterous.com/hytteplanmila-2011"). If you follow these links you end up at a page reading "Posterous Spaces is no longer available". This is because Posterous, my previous blogging platform, was acquired by Twitter and shut down. Tripple darn!
What I've done today is making my old blogs from Posterous available on my own server. You can find them all going to my site posterous.klevstul.com. My main blog, preceding chronicles.no, can be located at posterous.klevstul.com/klevstul. There you will find my archived post about Hytteplanmila 2011, and much more.
As I discover old and dead links to posterous.com, I will update them. However, as there are quite a few, I guess there will always be some links taking users to a dead end at posterous.com. At least now you know where to find the post, if there is something that you really want to read.
I've also got copies of my old Posterous blogs running at wordpress.com (for example at posterousklevstul.wordpress.com). However there were some problems during the import that messed up some of the images. As well the images are still refering to / being hosted at Posterous' Amazon S3 account. I guess it's only a matter of time before that account is deleted.
I failed BADLY at my May challenge. Mainly due to development of runners.no version 2.0. I guess I will have to try doing that again later. Manjana, manjana...
I've read another interesting beetroot article (thanks to Mr RG for the link), with the summary:
So where does this leave us? A little more cautious about the benefits of beet juice, perhaps. The good news is that, if the authors of the most recent study are right, beets work for everyone except truly elite athletes -- sucks to be them! Beyond that, while we're waiting for further studies, I guess I'd err on the side of (a) using real beet juice instead of supplements, and (b) loading up starting a few days before competition, rather than just a few hours before.
And now I seriously need to lay down for another half an hour or so, my head hurts once again... #sick #sux
