Race #6 2013 - 3.5km - 17:21 - Monday 6th of May
|A beautiful evening for a little run (photo: Heming Leira / Kondis).|
Now, this is the difficult part. After my leg was "slightly" troublesome last week (had to walk around Sognsvann) it now feels all good again now. So my problem is to hold back, and let my leg get enough rest from the tibia fracture. Hence it might not have been the smartest thing to do today's race. As I bumped into Mr CD, my medic in charge, on my way to the race he neither got overly exited with me running this close to Saturday's race. I did promise him that I would take it very easy, and only run a slow restitution round.
|With this on my chest my brain goes "click", sometimes.|
I only warmed up doing deep squats prior to the race, and did not run a meter. When we started running I felt very heavy and tired. That feeling didn't go away. Something happens to my head though, when I get a race bib on my chest. Hence I pushed myself once more, and didn't run as slow as planned.

The fun thing was that I ended up in third place. Having said that, neither Siri V nor Øystein S was anywhere to be spotted in the Sognsvann area tonight. Getting a third place in the coming weeks I'm sure you'll have to run a lot faster. That aside, a third place is a third place, no matter how many or who you are competing against.

Overall Salomon Trail Tour was a great event. I signed up for all races. This was the first of the year. For another eight weeks this trail race will be organised, on Monday's at Sognsvann. You can start in between 18:00 and 19:00, where the main group starts at 18:30. You can do a 3.5 km or 7.0 km race (one or two rounds). Next to this you can try out some of the brilliant Salomon shoes. In today's race I used the Salomon S-lab Sense Ulta, and they were brilliant.
