The Leave Phone Home Challenge - part 2

MoCh - Challenge #3 June 2012 - The Leave Phone Home Challenge

Summary
Another month and another challenge is over (click here for the rules of the challenge). All in all I made eight exceptions from the rules:

1/6 : Handover of new apartment, needed to be available for seller.
7/6 : Bislett Games Diamond League, needed to be available for voluntary work and tickets pick up.
9/6 : Planned a visit and needed my phone to arrange details. Did put it on flight mode. Surprisingly my location still got tracked.
10/6 : Dinner and movie "date" with a friend. Brought my phone just in case. Kept it on flight mode until we met, then turned it off.
14/6 : Used for car navigation due to attending a conference. On flight mode afterwards.
15-17/6 : Phone brought on trip, only taken outside the hotel a couple of times.
18/6 : Brought phone to hospital, due to work.
20/6 : Brought phone to hospital, due to work.

We are getting far too addicted to being available and online at all times. We start missing what is going on around us because much of our focus is on the small screens we carry around. This is not a sound development. I loved this challenge as well and I will try to continue the "leave phone home" practise.

July Challenge 2012
My new challenge will be "The Read Every Day Challenge", and I assume you can guess the content of this challenge.

Anbefaler deg å forsøke i noen dager.

The God of Small Things - Arundhati Roy
